Gym has morphed into a semi-constant – a great thing. Generally, I gravitate towards the cardio based /high intensity exercises so, in terms of endurance – I’m good. I can finish a 32 minute interval session, easy.
With that notion planted firmly in my head, I dived straight into body balance which is a yoga-taichi-pilates class or as Sye would say “ah-pek (old man) class”. From the outside, it looked slow and peasy. Right
Seeing how I’m as flexible as a log, this was a real challenge. I stumbled through the poses and the instructor even went a notch slower for me to keep up.
downward dog….lift the heel up….power energy ball…lotus pose stretch.
Oh my! I was trying not to throw out my back. The class finished with a glorious 5min relaxation set which was much welcomed. The devious instructor told me at the end of the class that I was not bad because I followed most of the poses and subtly slipped in that she’ll see me next week.
What?! I have to do this again. Yogi mistress, ommmm.
